Mrs. Shepherd

Mrs. Nancy Shepherd is a graduate of Oakman High School.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama in Early Childhood. Mrs. Shepherd has a Master’s Degree from the University of West Alabama in School Counseling and in Educational Leadership. She has been an educator in Walker County for the past 16 years. Mrs. Shepherd has been the School Guidance counselor for Cordova Elementary School, Bankhead Middle School and Oakman High School. Now, she is the Assistant Principal of Oakman Middle School. Nancy is married to David Shepherd. They have three daughters, Maryalice Shepherd Hocutt, Linnie, and Hanna Shepherd. Maryalice is married to Cody Hocutt.  Mrs. Shepherd’s grandson, Ryder Dale Hocutt,  is 4 years old. Because Mrs. Shepherd is a graduate of Oakman High School, she takes much pride in the fact that she is now at the school where she grew up working with children on a daily basis. Her words of encouragement on a daily basis are, "Make it a great day or not, the choice is up to you!".
