Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Rebbecca Odom
Mrs. Odom started her career as an educational interpreter in 2004. She has interpreted every grade level K-12, including many college courses. She rejoined the SMS family in 2016. In addition to classroom interpreting, Rebbecca sponsors two extracurricular clubs: SMS American Sign Language Club and It’s A Girl Thing.
Mrs. Odom greatly values higher education. In 2004, she graduated from St. Louis Community College with a Certificate of Proficiency in American Sign Language and an Associate Degree in Deaf Communications, Interpreter Training Program. Earning a second Associate Degree from Bevill State Community College in Liberal Arts in 2007, Rebbecca went on to graduate in 2009 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor Degree in Communication Studies: Human Communications and Public Relations.
