Mission:
The mission of Farmstead
Junior High School is to provide a quality education in a safe and
nurturing environment which consists of an effective faculty and an
instructional program to meet the needs of all students in order for
them to become productive citizens of society.
Farmstead School currently has
approximately 350 students enrolled in K-8 for
2004-2005. The school colors are royal blue and gold, and the school mascot is an Indian. Two-thirds of Farmstead's teachers have more than 20 years' experience in education, and three-fourths have a Master's Degree or above.
All students have library scheduled one hour each week. Students are involved in
Alabama Reading Initiative, Accelerated Reader, Junior Achievement, Young Authors, National Beta Club and
Peer Helpers. Athletics include volleyball, basketball, softball, and baseball.
